Incarnation, Posthumanism and Performative Anthropology: The Body of Technology and the Body of Christ

Abstract This essay argues that a Christian incarnational response to posthumanism must recognize what is at stake isn't just whether belief systems align. It seeks relocate the interaction between church and how practices of Christianity perform bodies, affections dispositions each. Posthuman habituate: (1) A preference for informational patterns over material instantiation; (2) consciousness self are extended displaced rather than discrete localized; (3) body merely tool, original prosthesis we learn manipulate (4) human life organized such it seamless with intelligent machines. The performance embodied life, on other hand, has Christ as template and, in Eucharist, Christians marked by offering, sacrifice celebration community affirms integrity our common incarnate life.
